About ITP in Spain
Property Transfer Tax (ITP) applies to second-hand home purchases in Spain. Each autonomous community sets its own rate, ranging from 4% (Basque Country) to 10% (Catalonia, Valencia, Cantabria). Bank-owned homes and BOE judicial auction properties are taxed under ITP like any other used home. Conditions may vary based on buyer age, family status or primary residence use.
